macOS
V1.9.6
Zipic v1.9.6 — more reliable metadata handling when converting to WebP, AVIF, JXL, and HEIC, with fixes for privacy metadata removal, JXL decoding, license re-activation, CLI metadata flags, and Pro feature prompts.
🐛 Bug Fixes
- Metadata preservation: converting to WebP, AVIF, JXL, and HEIC now follows the “Preserve Image Metadata” setting more reliably for EXIF, XMP, GPS, and related image metadata.
- Privacy metadata: when metadata preservation is turned off, AVIF, JXL, HEIC, and WebP outputs now correctly remove privacy metadata while keeping essential color information where possible.
- JXL conversion: fixed an issue where some JXL files with metadata could fail to decode or open correctly.
- License unlinking: after unlinking a Pro activation, the License page now keeps the previously entered email and license key for easier reactivation.
- CLI metadata options: metadata preservation and removal flags in the command-line tool now apply correctly to the current compression task.
- Pro feature prompts: free users now see the correct Pro feature prompt when trying to remove image metadata, instead of silent or inconsistent behavior.
